Heres Johnny....

Posted on: April 3, 2008 3:05 pm

Johnny Cueto one of the Reds prized pitching prospects made his major league debut today, and said Hello world. Cueto has outstanding stuff and all the makings of a great pitcher at the major league level.

He showed his stuff today going 7 innings and giving up just one hit (a leadoff homer to Justin Upton in the 6th inning) and not walking a batter while he struck out 10! What a great performance for this young man.

Johnny Cueto has some fantasy value. He is the third starter in a rotation with a pretty good offense and he has shown that he has the talent to take care of a major league lineup. He is a very good pickup in NL only leagues (if he is available) and in mixed leagues as a sort of risk/reward pick if you have a bench spot available.

Cueto left with a 3-1 lead and the Reds bullpen came in to finish up the rest...but they called on David Weathers who recorded an out and then walked the bases full....before getting taken out.

What an outstanding debut for Cueto...the kid could be really good.

Heres Johnny....

Although Weathers loaded the bases the Reds got out of the jam just giving up one run.

Francisco Cordero then came in and closed out the game to give the Reds a 3-2 win. It also gave Cueto his first win of his major league career after an outstanding debut of 7 innings and just giving up 1 hit. Perhaps the most impressive part of Cueto's day was his 0 walks and his 10 Ks. He did a very good job of keeping his pitches down (92 pitches in 7 innings).

Heres Johnny....

I'd like to personally thank Johnny Cueto for rising my fantasy team from the dead today, 103 point difference in one day, and a lot of that was his 38...

Heres Johnny....

Well, Cueto helped me on two sides of the ball today on my fantasy team.

He pitched great, and he gave up a home run to my subbing for Manny- outfielder Justin Upton. Thank you Cueto.

Wow!What a debut for Cueto. This kid has a bazooka for a right arm.I hope he can continue like this.If so,the Reds might  be a playoff team.

Heres Johnny....

Yeah, the only question is if the Reds bullpen and offense can give him enough wins.
